AK12, made by Arcturus, is a replica of a new iteration of an AK-pattern assault rifle designed by the Izhmash/Kalashnikov Group. The original AK design was modernized with a new collapsible buttstock, pistol grip, railed dust cover, new handguard, magazine, iron sights, and muzzle device. This paved the way for a simple yet highly reliable and effective modification of the parent gun.
This 700/945mm long replica is fed from a new polymer magazine, weighs 3500g, and fires from semi- and full-automatic modes.
Main elements like the body, railed dust cover, gas block, sight block, gas tube, iron sights, and other small components are machined from steel. At the same time, the outer barrel and a few minor parts are fabricated from high-quality aluminum and metal alloys. The only components made from polymers are the handguard, stock, pistol grip, and magazine.
Like the original, the receiver is fabricated from stamped steel for superb resistance to wear and damage. It is furtherly covered in an anti-corrosion coating. The steel dust cover is outfitted with a Picatinny rail. It is attached to the gas block via a hinge for easy access and improved zero retention. Each replica has a unique serial number engraved on the receiver.
At the front, we can find a polymer handguard with three Picatinny rails - one at the top and two on the sides. Additionally, the top-mounted rail on the gas tube cover aligns with the rail on the dust cover. This setup allows users to attach accessories and equipment suitable to their needs, preferences, or mission/game requirements.
The solid, side folding, collapsible stock is comfortable to use. It is easy to fold, handle in confined spaces, and simple to stash.
The heart of the replica is a V3-type gearbox with a quick spring change system, 8mm bearings, a polymer piston with steel teeth, and high-quality gears.
